Hello, I'm a student involved in chemical synthesis.

I want to know how you determine the volume of solvent (eg., 100 ml or 250 ml, etc.) for various organic synthesis.

What is the standard for above decision?

I want appropriate answer.

Thank you for your reading..

This is an impossible question to answer so generally.

If it's a completely new reaction, then obviously, you have to play with it.  Enough solvent to provide a medium for your reagents to mix well, but not so much that it takes forever for the reaction to take place.

If it's a known reaction, then obviously you use whatever they told you to.
