In my course we've gone through the basics of Solid Phase Peptide Synthesis (SPSS) with two resins (Wang Resin and Dihydropyran derivatised resin) and two protecting/activating groups (t-boc and F-moc).
I thought I grasped the concept behind both resins, but then my lector told me that Wang-resin reacts as an electrophile while the Dihydropyran derivatised resin reacts as a nucleophile, which made me wonder when to use either. Does the peptide that you want to synthesise effect which resin you chose?
Thanks in advance.
Edit: Maybe the second P stands for peptide?
