stoichiomtry homework trouble
« on: October 08, 2008, 08:27:15 PM »
Alright, so this is my chem lab work that deals with stoichiomtry. This is probably easy and I'm just making it hard but I missed a day of class and I didn't take chemistry well I did, but I didn't learn anything the teacher talked about football everyday. Can someone help me with these? : )

How many moles of water are produced if 6.0 moles of C8H18(l) react with 6.0 moles O2(g) ?

How many grams of O2(g) will react with 4.560 moles of C8H18(l) ?

How many grams of water are produced if 55.0 grams of C8H18(l) react with 55.0 grams of O2(g) ? what is the limiting excess reagent? How many grams of the excess reagent will be left over?

____ g H2O produced

_____ limiting reagent

______ excess reagent

______ g excess reagent left over

These are combustion reactions, and should be covered in your chemistry book.

Before you can solve any of these, you need to write a chemical equation for this combustion reaction.

You already know part of it, you know both of the reactants, and you know one of the products, can you finish it?  If you don't know how to finish it, show us what you do know, and we can work from there (however, your book or googling "combustion reaction" should provide you with the info).
