Buying of a Mass-spectrometer
« on: October 08, 2008, 06:02:30 AM »
Hi all,

Would need some advice with regards to purchase a MS. Hope to get some pointers here

1. interested to get a Mass-Spectrometer to be coupled with a Shimadzu GC, can this be done?
2. Approximate range of price for a MS?
3. Which is a better brand of MS we can look for?
4. The cost of the libraries, and do we need to apply some form of licencse, any renewing of that as well?
5. Any other concerns we need to take note of?

Million Thx!

Lingo

Not sure of the others, but for price, you're looking at anywhere from a few thousand to near a hundred thousand.

Are you looking for an MS or MS-MS

Applied Biosystems models can be couoped to shimadzu LC's
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
