Make and balance a reaction

Hey .
I am new here.

I have a assignment which I dont understand. So I hope you can

A solution is prepared by mixing the liquids in a 500 mL Volumetric Flask: 60 mL of 0.21 M HCl and 90 mL 0.050 M HNO3. Then filled  the Volumentric flask to the 500 mark.

The solution is poured into a beaker containing 0.92 g Ca (OH) 2 The total amount of Ca(OH)2 can be dissolved in the circumstances.
Make a response form for the reaction that takes place in the beaker.

Help me please

hey Alinho,

What is the reaction between HCl with Ca(OH)2 and HNO3 with Ca(OH)2? Write the equations first then start working with moles.
No matters what results are waiting for us, it's nothing but the DESTINY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Between HCl and Ca(OH)2
Ca(OH)2 + 2HCl  -> CaCl2 + 2H2O

And between Ca(OH)2 and HNO3

Ca(OH)2 + 2HNO3  -> Ca(NO3)2 + 2H2O


What do I need to do now ?

I do not see where it says to calculate anything, so I do not think you need to. You are to just show the reactions.

But you should put the phases in the reactions as well.
Also, you can simplify it down greatly if you remove spectator ions, not sure if you have covered that yet?

Sure.  A spectator ion is one that appears on both sides of the arrow.  Insoluble reactants, or new products that aren't reactants (like water created from a neutralization reaction) are left alone when removing spectator ions.  Sometimes it's useful to express the reaction in this way, for simplicity, or to show what's really happening.  Try it and see.

Simmer down.  Sometimes it takes more than a half hour for people to get the time to help.  try stuff on your own for an afternoon and see if you can't solve it yourself.

I got these two reactions:

Ca(OH)2 + 2HCl  -> CaCl2 + 2H2O

Ca(OH)2 + 2HNO3  -> Ca(NO3)2 + 2H2O


I can see that i got 2H2O on both of the reaction.
What then ?

Alinho: your reactions are OK. Try to reword the question, seems like your translation of teh question (from Danish?) may be the reason why we have no idea what you are asked to do.

Or was the question posted in English and it is just me?
