I am looking for a pure form of a chemical that will prevent water from freezing as well as not emit any harmful gases during electrolysis. The goal is to separate hydrogen from the water which is actually quite easy but so far we have not found any solution to the freezing problem freezing doesnt harm anything but it does hinder that startup time. i have looked into a few checmicals and ethylene glycol does work and produces very few contaminents. The only question is what is created from ethylene glycol during electrolysis there is obviously a chemical change but we have no way of testing what we have created. Isopropanol works better but has more contaminents the ethylene glycol
i hope someone understands what i am asking here
thanks
