How can I prove that atoms from different elements have different volumes?

Can you think of a method of estimating single atom volume in a piece of iron of known mass and volume?

Note: it can be done using solids, but you have to know a lot about solids used. If you select wrong pair of solids, you may get completely wrong results. This question is far from being easy.
