What can someone do with a BS in Chemistry?
« on: November 12, 2008, 10:50:57 PM »
I'm currently a high school student looking at different colleges.  While I'm primarily interested in some form of pharmacy or medicine, I've been avidly considering some form of scientific research.

If I were to have a BS in Chemistry, what could I do for a career? In addition, what type of chemistry is the one that has the greatest demand for research?

Thank you.

At present there appears to be a high demand for Medicinal or Synthetic Chemists. However, in the time it takes to do your  BSc, the employment environment could change completely.

Making a decision on a specific career track now would be counter-productive.
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
