Lewis structure for SF6

I have 48 valence electrons with S as the central atom. 6 single bonds connecting the F with 3 lone pairs on each F. Adds up to 48. But how does S get 6 single bonds? Doesn't that violate the octet rule?

Octet rule is absolutely valid only for second row elements, mainly for C, N, O and F, and in fact this is rather an exception then a rule!
