Help w/ Hydrohalogenation Reaction!

I'm suppose to find the name of the reactant in this hydrohalogenation reaction



I thought it would be just a butene but I guess that's wrong. Can someone help me out please?

The longest carbon chain you can make is 3, so at best it'd be a propene.

Yeah think about the mechanism of adding HBr across a double bond. Remember how you name simple branched alkanes. As the previous entry states the longest straight chain is 3 carbons thus the starting material is based on a propane derivative.

Any ideas now?
