Difference between Ethane and Ethyne?

I have a chemistry assignment due and on it,it has Ethane as C2H4 and Ethyne is C2H2. Is that correct or is Ethane C2H6?? Is Ethyne not C2H4??

What's C2H2??

C2H4 is ethylene from Wikipedia...look it up and you will find out.

C2H6 should be ethane

btw...C2H2 is acetylene, all these things are hydrocarbons (the compounds that have carbon and hydrogen in them).

In Ethane all the covalent bonds C-C and C-H are single bonds and it is classified as an Alkane C2H6.

In Ethene all the covalent bonds  C-H are single bonds and the C-C bond is a double bond.  It is classified as an Alkene C2H4.

In Ethyne all the covalent bonds  C-H are single bonds and the C-C bond is a triple bond.  It is classified as an Alkyne C2H2.
