Isomer differentiation

What might be the easiest way to differentiate one isomer with another  (R and S configuration) ?

So, if you have two compounds, one an R and one an S.  What are they called?

Actually I have one compound, in which two carbon atoms has different configuration, so how can I confirm that its R and S . Is it possible to find out with the help of NMR?

Can you post your whole question?  If you are asking about a real experiment, please give the structure and all of the information at once.
