in an electrophoresis experiment, D=2E-05 and N=8.711E06. using this relationship why smaller molecules have poorer separations than larger molecules?

Hi,
The separation in electrophoresis is based on 1-Molecule size 2-gel type 3-corrent 4-running buffer,
please tell more information about them, and your analyse.
