In the definition of both of these coefficients activities are used, so are they both concentration dependant? since activity=activ.coeff.*conc. and the act. coeff. varies with concentration... I know that for the partitioning (distribution) coefficient, the activity coefficient can be assumed to be 1 for concentrations till 0,1M and the expression is then K=C(I2 org)/C( I2 water) for example. But what about for the coefficient of equilibrium or there any limitations in concentration?
In which concentration interval are this constants really "constant"?
Thank you for the answers!
