Today my curious nephew asked me on how these fabrics keep the wearer dry from the sweat. But I wasn't able to answer him. Promising that I will find out the answer the next time he comes to my house, I decided to start searching on it.

So guys, what exactly are the properties of the fabric that keeps the sweat away from the body? Some sort of hydrophobic polymer? I don't know, can anyone tell me?

All I know about it is that the fabric is polyester. But polyester is such a generic name, what is the chemical compund that it is used to manufacture these clothes?
