Assistant Editor position at Nature Protocols
« on: August 15, 2008, 02:20:23 PM »
Hello All,

Perhaps you, or someone you know, would like to come and work at Nature Protocols as an Assistant Editor from October to December 2008 (3 months).

The advert uses phrases like “be familiar with a broad range of laboratory techniques” and “ideal opportunity for someone considering a career move from research to publishing”.

More about Nature Protocols: http://www.nature.com/nprot/index.html
The Advert: http://protocols.nature.com/image/show/1062

I am going to be having an extended leave of absence so it will be a locum position to cover this. Most of the protocols that I edit are in the following categories:

-Chemical Modification / Synthetic Chemistry
-Computational Biology
-Isolation, Purification and Separation
-Spectroscopy and Structural analysis

I blog here and have started a collection of "protocols in boxes".

I work at Nature Protocols.

Wow.. look at the number of views on this thread..

Assistant Editor at Nature must be an extremely prestigious role.
"Say you're in a [chemical] plant and there's a snake on the floor. What are you going to do? Call a consultant? Get a meeting together to talk about which color is the snake? Employees should do one thing: walk over there and you step on the friggin snake." - Jean-Pierre Garnier, CEO of Glaxosmithkline, June 2006
