Which would have lesser lattice energy and why?
Na\2O and MgCl\2.
Does it have to do with ion sizes?

ion size and charge play a big role. you are actually considering the charge density.

lattice energy depends on both the atomic radii and the charge of the irons.
LE = K (q1 q2) / r
2
as the charge increases the L.E increases..
as the radii increases L.E decreases..
since charge is the same here ..i guess it depends on radii
