Help with chemistry hydrogen and the activity series
« on: October 15, 2011, 04:29:46 PM »
My teacher just asked us to answer 2 questions on a displacement lab we did and I have no clue since she did not explain this.
1. Explaing why the position of H can't be fixed exactly with respect to all the other elements listed in the activity series.

2.  What tests would need to be done to establish the position of H in the activity series of elements.

Can someone help me please!!

I'm afraid I don't understand the context in which the question is asked. Would it be possible to post more information about the lab, like what you were measuring and what you were trying to demonstrate or determine?

Thanks for responding!!!  We were measuring:
Cu+AgNO3(aq)
Pb + Cu(NO3)2(aq)
Zn + Pb(NO3)2(aq)
Zn + MgSO4(aq)
Cu + H2SO4(aq)
Zn + H2SO4(aq)
