An inorganic salt A when heated decomposes completely to give only 2 gases B and C. B is a neutral gas fairly soluble in water and itself decomposes on heating to 2 different gases D and E. A when warmed with NaOH gives another gas F, which turns mercurous nitrate paper black. After sometime the gas F ceases to evolve, however its supply is restored by treating residual solution with aluminium powder. Identify A to F and give relevant equations.
Ok, so F is ammonia. So A contains NH4+. I know that NH4+NO3 gives N2O and water on heating, while NH4+NO2 gives N2 and water on heating. But I am not aware of the other reactions. And what does the last line mean (the aluminium powder thing?)
