cyclohexanone from cyclohexanol using acetic acid

Hi, the reason of using acetic acid during the synthesis of cyclohexanone from cyclohexanol is to increasing the yield?  Also, will acetic acid help to neutralize sodium hydroxide in this experiement? THANKS< Ester
