Hydrogen Isotopes
« on: February 14, 2009, 07:51:37 PM »
Hello

Does this equation cause radiation (nuclear energy or explosion).

21H + 21:rarrow: 42H + Energy

I was writing notes at school to put in my Chemistry Learning Journal and I didn't the information for this equation.

Thank you

That, 42H isn't even hydrogen isotope. Probably you meant 42He

Anyway in a nuclear reaction, D + D  :rarrow: 3He + n and not the way you thought it would be. It will release energy as 3He is a more stable isotope than 2H. However you do need large amount of energy to fuse them together.
No matters what results are waiting for us, it's nothing but the DESTINY!!!!!!!!!!!!
