ok so we did a quick lab in class today and i need help seeing if my presumptions are correct
all i really need is this to be checked and help on the spots i couldn't get. Underlined and bolded things should make this easier to follow.
here are the directions
Three variables, temperature, pressure and volume effect gasses. Investigate the following scenarios with these variables in mind...
each scenario should have at least 2 variables
First Scenario
Erlenmeyer flask and balloon
Record your observations....
variables : heat and volume
When the water boiled it started to create steam and fill up the balloon and then when we took it off the burner, the water was stil bubbling and then the balloon got sucked inside the flask.
Write your Gas law that explains this phenomenon
I said . when the water heats up it steams into the balloon then when it is taken off the condensation drips back into the flask, but i have no clue why it creates a suction during that process.
#2
Balloon in the vacuum pump
Record your observations
When the pressure went lower, the balloon got bigger.
variables : Pressure and Volume
Write your Gas law that explains this phenomenon
I said.... The lower the pressure the more area the gas takes up?
#3
Syringe and stopper
Record your observations
Much more difficult to pull with stopper on because it has no air comming out of the opposite end.
Variables : Pressure and Volume
Write your Gas law that explains this phenomenon
i said.... i have no clue what this one would even come close to being
#4
Hair spray in balloon
Record your observations
Variables : Pressure and heat and volume?
The pressure of the hairspray can is transferred into the balloon and it is cold
Write your Gas law that explains this phenomenon
also i have no clue on this one
