My name is marius and I am looking from a long time for a nickel plating solution. I am making some fishing lures from copper and I realy need to to plate them with nickel and silver. I got a nickel plating solution from a friend, but it is not for electroplating , it applies with friction. Here is the solution.
30 parts nickel sulfate
10 parts ammonium sulfate
20 parts choline (not 100% sure , in romanian it is called "caolina" but it must be )
5 parts talc
And the recipe sais: that all the substances are mixed with some small amount of water until they become something like a pasta and then we ad some boric acid and you put the pasta with friction on the copper lure . Mabe you can try this recipe dionl and give us some results.
There is a guy on youtube who is plating nickel on some coins and he is using "distilled vinegar, pinch of salt, and electrically dissolved nickel" . Here is the link :
