Hi CanCangurl87, welcome to the forums!

The policy on these forums is that we help guide you to the answer, but you need to do some work also (we don't just give out answers).

Have you taken a freshman chemistry course?  These types of questions are usually covered extensively in an introductory course.  Where did you get these questions?

If you want to, you can even try a common English dictionary, to get the simplest answer to your questions, to help you understand your chemistry book better.  For example, you apparently can't tell, but at least twice, you asked the same question, but in different ways.  The dictionary definitions, and your chemistry book's index, will help you combine topics, so you can read the book better.
Hey, I'm not judging.  I just like to shoot straight.  I'm a man of science.

Also checking other books and googling for introductory chemistry pages may help. Could be the way your book is written doesn't suit you, while it may work perfectly for others. These are very individual things. Chances are things described with slightly different wording or with different emphasis will be easier to understand for you.
