Safe storage of H2SO4
« on: May 16, 2005, 08:56:56 AM »
Is it good practice to store containers of H2SO4 in an outdoor structure where freezing temperatures are expected?

( Does sulfuric acid expand on freezing as water does and rupture containers? )

MSDS not helpful on this point.

Thanks for your help.

No idea, all I know is that it will get solid at about 8-10 deg C, so much earlier then water (exact temperature depends on the amount of water dissolved).
