We did a titration lab, and one of the questions ask "Why must the KHP and the acid samples be dried? If they were not, how would your results change (high or low)?" I know something gets added to it, and drying the acid removes this, but what exactly gets added?

In the same lab "Why do we determine the equivalent mass and not the molar mass?"
What is the difference between the two? and Why?
