Why does ASP52(as an amino sidechain) help stabilize NAC acid reaction intermediate?

The free carboxyl group of glutamic acid is a hydrogen ion donor. This would break the already-strained bond between the oxygen atom and the carbon atom of ring. The resulting positive charge on C1 can be stabilized by ionized Asp-52.
