Ionizing silver through a membrane?
« on: April 08, 2009, 01:25:56 AM »
Hi, thank you for taking time to read my post.  I have a very basic knowledge of chemistry, so forgive me for my ignorance.

I have an ionizer contraption that consists of a DC power source, 2 electrodes of stainles steel (pos and a negative), a container to hold the water and a membrane that is quite efficient (the container has 2 sides of course with the membrane seperating the 2 halves).

If I were to use silver electrodes in  deionized water, can anyone predict what the outcome would be?  And how would this compare of using a single container of deionized water with the silver electrodes (and of course no membrane)?

Thank you again!
