How can the N-methyl group be weakened? By bonding more EWG s into the molecule? If the N methyl group is weakened does the N become more electrophilic?

Weakening the N-CH3 bond. If this bond is weakened would the molecule (N-desmethyl MechlorEthAmine ) accept a -CH3 group easier or harder...
