Questions on Activated complex energy, energy profile.
« on: April 30, 2009, 12:22:37 PM »
I know that activated complex is related to the energy profile and  :delta:G
I also understand that activated complex is the highest energy state which give rise to the energy Barrier.

Yet, I don't really understand how this pit can related to the  :delta:G=  :delta:G(standard state) + RT lnK

Moreover, i don't understand how to compair the free energy from the reactant to the transition state and free energy form the transition state to the product.
How can these two value be related to the feasiblility of the reaction?

Explaination or even source, notes of relavent ideas would be apprexiated. ;)
