How to calculate percent by mass?
« on: July 20, 2009, 04:57:52 PM »
Calculate the percent by mass of acetic acid, CH3COOH in a solution of 0.620M CH3COOH. Assume the density of the solution is 1.07 g/mL.

--Could someone please explain how to solve this question?  ??? I'm confused on how to calculate percent by mass because the only given amounts are the molarity and density. How would you use those amounts to find the percent by mass? Thanks in advance

Assume 1 L of the solution - what is its mass? What is the mass of acetic acid?
