Often then people want to do a kinetic quench at -78 they add saturated aqueous ammonium chloride to the solution. Of course this freezes immediately upon addition. The protonation to quench most likely occurs as the solution warms and the aqueous materials thaw. This is hardly a -78 quench. I imagine there must be other systems one could use, but I have not been cleaver enough to come up with search terms that don't give me an impossible number of useless references, most using the saturated aqueous ammonium chloride. Can any of you suggest a system, or direct me to a reference that might address my kinetic quench need.
Thanks,
