I noticed that chemical engineering in the U.S. pays well. Why is that?
I read about chemical engineering, and I question why it has not been completely outsourced.
Will it ever be outsourced?
Is chemical engineering so well integrated into a country's infrastructure that outsourcing is out of the question?

Well, sorry to tell you the bad news, chemical engineering is being outsourced quickly.

It all comes down to price. Because the price of engineering labor in the U.S. is so high, approximatley 8 engineers from India can do the price for 1 engineer in the U.S.

There were about 75,000 U.S. engineering graduates last year, about 200,000 in India, and about 250,000 in China.

The qualifications are similar and with the world market, the schooling quality in the U.S. is declining, while India and China's quality is increasing.
