suggest a method and describe it.
a. Starch and rice
b. oil and water
c. sand and water
d. acetone, alcohol and water
e. sugar and rice

Well, what differences are you are aware of between, for instance oil and water, or sugar and rice?

google the separating techniques. It lists lots of them. Check out
-filtration
-using melting or boiling point difference-
-distillation/fractional distillation
-decantation
-evaporation/crystallization
