Is it safe to use a standard bunsen burner with bottled propane gas?

I assume you would have to make sure you controlled the temperature of the flame.
I remember using a propane torch and melting my test-tube.
Of course, I might not have been using the best test tube.

If it's a bunsen designed for use with LPG. The ones designed for natural gas have a different sized nozzle, and shouldn't be used with propane, as propane has a higher calorific value than methane.
