Hi
I've got this equilibrium
AgBr(s) + 2NH
3(aq)
[Ag(NH
3)
2]
+(aq) + Br
-(aq)
and I'm asked to predict the direction (if any) of the equilibrium when strong acid is added.
Well, I know NH
3 is the stronger base, which might causes the equilibrium to shift towards the reactants (to produce more base to neutralize the added acid). However, some of my classmates think that the equilibrium is left untouched. Can someone please provide me with a hint? Thanks.
