GTN and 8-Hydroxyquinoline
« on: September 10, 2009, 12:02:57 AM »
Hi there!

This is my first of what will probably be many posts here. ;) I am not particularly knowledgeable in chemistry (which is partly why I am here), so please be gentle. :)

I am working with GTN (glyceryl trinitrate) - and a chemical that happens to be nearby is 8-hydroxyquinoline. Based upon the structure of these two molecules alone, would you expect the 8-hydroxyquinoline to interfere with the GTN? Would it react to form some sort of other compound? Not sure if these sorts of things can be predicted but would appreciate any help.

Thanks!
