Why does Fat dissolve in Gasoline ?

...and not in water ?
we're supposed to explain that with help of electronegativity, but i dont know how to do it  ???
i just know:
-fat & gasoline are both made up of organic elements
-both are hydrocarbons
:/ could you help me ?

Fat is not a hydrocarbon.

Check polarity concent.

Another way of saying that is "like dissolves like".  Fat and gasoline have similar polarities.
