Thin Layer Chromotography PEI cellulose plates

Hey guys

I am having difficulties with Thin Layer Chromotography. I am using Poly ethylenimine impregnated Cellulose plates and trying to separate adenosine, homocysteine, inosine and adenosylhomocycteine from a reaction mixture. I apply 0.5 uL of the mix at a concentration of 2.5uM. My developing solution is isobutanol-propanol-water (1:1:2 v/v/v) but for some reason I am not seeing a separation.

If anyone can give me suggestions on how to get any sort of resolution (or tips on TLC in general), it will be extremely helpful and appreciated.

What are you using to visualize the compounds? Is it just you trying do the separation or are other students also working on the same project? If other people are also working on this same problem have they had problems with getting separation?

Found this website, it has some info on visualization so maybe that will help

However, there are some people on this forum that are experts at TLC so maybe you'll get luck and one of them will come along and help ya out. I mainly am only able to help with TLC by looking stuff up on the net and posting links.
