At present Medicinal and synthetic chemist's seem most in demand but that may not be the same when you reach the job market.
My advice to you is to ingnore the monetary aspect and study general chemistry then follow whichever path interests you most. Your working life can be 30+ years, doing a job you don't like just because the money was better will not satify you as much as a job you like.
Also, doing something you like which stimulates you, is far more likely to bring career progression than a job which you tolerate for the money.
