Combustion of propane
« on: October 17, 2009, 08:47:39 PM »
Problem:
Assuming that the volumes of the carbon dioxide and of propane are measured under the same experimental conditions, what volume of carbon dioxide is produced by the complete combustion of 30L of propane? Answer in units of L.

So far, I got the equation for the combustion of propane and found the mol to mol ratio between the propane and the oxygen. But... I'm stuck on where to start from there...

Equation: CH4CH2CH3 + 5 O2 -> 3 CO2 + 4H2O

Ratio between propane and oxygen is 1 to 3.
