I got an answer, but I'd like to compare it to others just to be sure.

What UG is trying to say is that you don't have to worry about us being swayed by your answer, and we definitely won't bother solving the problem if you haven't attempted it first. Actually, some of us will solve it but we won't post the answer unless you've posted first. That way we're assured that we're not doing homework for you and are actually helping you in the long run.
