Why do we wear glasses when we heat strach with iodine in Lab?

1. To protect your eyes from rising vapors emitted from your heated sample.

2. In the case of poor vision, glasses can help improve eyesight.

Answers like this are the reason why they pay me the big bucks  ;D

When you work in the lab, you need to wear the goggle at all times. This is for your safety.
