GC problem of standard curve&quantity analysis
« on: October 24, 2009, 08:11:12 AM »
Hi members,

I'm new member of this Forum, I want to get good knowledge of yours.
(And I'm afraid my English writting is poor, because I'm not English-speaking people. Your kind understanding will be thankful ! ;))

I have problems of GC for ethylene diamine(EDA) analysis.
EDA contained in polymer product.
(I know it is dangerous method to using GC because big molecular weight polymer. But after I tried several method, finally I choose the GC analysis. I take care of GC inlet glass line by polymer pollution more often)

Anyway, I have a basic question about standard curve.
Is it possible standard curve is not straight line in GC? (log scale or reverse-log scale?)

And I'm using HP-1 column, is it weak for EDA by adsorption?  ???
I think peak become having tailing. :'(

Because I'm not majoring chemical analysis, I'm hope your correct answer.
Thanks!
