Dear All,

I need to know the convenient filler handling scheme, for the filler to be used at 180 deg C in Fertilizer production process. The major content in available filler is nothing but SiO2 and the filler is stored at atmospheric temperature. Moisture content also need to be reduced from 7 % to 1 % in the processed filler.

Thanks a lot. In fact I have not developed any process diagram.

But the expected process is as follows:

To control the nutrient values I want to add filler to the liquid melt which is at 180 deg C. Naturally the filler with high moisture content need to be not only dried but heated up to 180 deg C minimum before being added to the melt.

The filler is nothing but the local desert sand (available at atmospheric condition) and need to be fed to the system through any temp. compatible measuring system.

Hello cr panigrahi,

I have a suggestion, but am not familiar with your process.

Here is something you may want to consider, and you will be the person to know if this works or not.

Pre-heat the SiO2 to 180 C - this will evaporate available water. If the sand is moist, then increase the length of time the sand is exposed to 180 C.

Next, inject the sand either through an addition system that adds it to the nutrient in a random - but consistent mixing system. This can be a continuous or batch system.

Any other thoughts?
