Conjugation
« on: November 11, 2009, 06:12:23 PM »
Hi.

I was wondering if the carbonyls in oxalates were considered conjugated, or if they are better described as being cross conjugated.

Thanks

There is no conjugation between the two carbons in an oxalate.  No cross conjugations either.
