Paracetamol Preperation ( Acetaminophen)
« on: December 01, 2009, 11:35:37 PM »
Paracetamol or acetaminophen is one of the common analgesic and pain killer in the world, OTC drug with antipyretic properties, NSAID drug.

Its preparation is easy since it takes about 10 minutes by the reaction of p-aminophenol (para amino phenol) with acetic anhydried.

The mechanism of this reaction is Nucleophilic acyl substitution reaction (McMurry 7E,p 807).  The procedure and the volumes are included in the movie.  Any comment or suggestion please feel free to add.
