Molal and Molar Volume
« on: January 26, 2010, 10:09:01 PM »
Hi I need the Molal volume of vitamin E to plug into an equation for my homework.  However all the problem gives is the MW=430.7g/mol the Molar volume=603cm^3/mol and the formula is C_29 H_50 O_2  I don't know how I am supposed to find the molal volume please it should be in cm^3/(g*mol)

I am using this for the Wilke-Chang equation my text says that I need the molal volume of solute but I also found something online that says to use the molar volume of the solute so now I am pretty confused?

I have never heard about molal volume.

Molar concentration is number of moles per litre of solution. Molar volume is a volume of 1 mole. Molal concentration is number of moles per kg of solvent and I have no idea what molal volume could be.

Compare: google books.
