The formula for ligand field stabiliziing energy is (-0.4m + 0.6n), where m is the no. of electrons in the t2g orbital and n the number of electrons in the eg orbital.
Why are the values for LFSE expressed positively?

I think it is by convention. Positive quantities refer to "gain of stability" of the complex.
