I'm sure most of you are familiar with the thermodynamic square, SHPUGVAT. A question proposed by my professor to me was why on the corners of the square is Pressure, Volume, Temperature but the odd one is Entropy. Anyone know how that came to be?

I came across an old paper that derived the mnemonic using group theory but I didn't understand it. I'll try to dig that up if it can help someone answer this question.
